RPW messed up requesting a huge amount of return money

Received a letter that made no sense on overpayment with the same in payment in a fine totaling £20k.

My agent confirms its a error with their system of a decimal point going into their system. It should be zero point.

Both myself and the agent are messaging them but they are not grasping the error. Just the usual poor response by someone who isnt looking at this properly with maps. They are just reiterating that we having over claimed when we havent neither have we been over paid!

Im not impressed that someone up in Civil Service is not looking into this accurately.

I am in chats with the farm liaison officer but dont seem to be getting anywhere with this.

Where do I go to nip this in the bud before I start shouting at them?

I feel for you but this does not suprise me. The constant maladministration and complete lack of accountability is typical of the current Rural Affairs Department. Leadership must come from the top, and with the Rural Minister in bed with what was once one of her heads of department (who absoloutely hates farmers), we're going to continue to suffer. It makes a mockery of our industry and of democracy in Wales. She's clearly broken her own ministerial code, but there has been no consequences and it was all brushed under the carpet.
Both unions seems to have just accepted that this is the way it is. We desperately need a farming protest movement in Wales! If they push you down the appeal route, the current backlog for a hearing is over 2 years. The panel on the appeals committe are brainwashed wannabes that will do anything for their expenses and free cup of tea.
If you can put your case together in a succint way, take it to your local Senedd Member, now is a good time due to upcoming Welsh Government elections in May.
In my experience, don't bother asking the mainstream farming press for support, Farmers Guardian is more of a mouthpiece on Welsh Government side.
The department is no longer fit for purpose, and desperately needs a complete overhaul before its too late. I think we should get @Clive on the case!
