RSPCA give up private prosecutions

I'm not sure I consider it good news.
I don't see anything inherently wrong with taking those committing animal abuse to court but the way the RSPCA have conducted themselves in recent times is abhorrent.
Many people within RSPCA should face prosecution for the abuse [and fraud] they have inflicted on others.

They incurred £326,980.23 in costs when they took a hunt to court in 2014. That was just one case!
If you were up against a body that was prepared to spend that much to prosecute you how would you fare?
It is not their job to prosecute people, that is the job of the CPS. I am not defending anybody that ill treats animals in any way but they are not the way forward.
