No one else heard the one about a German machinery manufacturer buying a sizeable share in a U.K. Machinery dealer then to save them from going under......?

That one has been doing the rounds for years. It wouldn't surprise me if it turned out to be true one day even if it hasn't happened already once or twice, here or there.

It's one that came to me a couple of weeks back, not going to mention any names though for obvious reasons unless any reliable evidence of what a customer of the dealership told me appears.

Having said that I heard that Pfizer are considering buying Porsche from VW. Apparently after reading this forum they are keen to use the brand to build on their portfolio of treatments for erectile dysfunction in the agricultural sector. Happy New Year!

The Kongskilde takeover by CNH did take me by surprise. Others may well do so in future. One possible major takeover that is yet to be finalised won't. If it happens, it will be a major game changer, if only because there is massive overlap in some existing ranges, which is why most people would not suspect such a marriage being in prospect.

It might never happen of course, so I'm certainly not giving any more clues, if for no other reason than I might make a right tit of myself if it doesn't happen.

I heard it was NewHolland that bought Kongskilde not CNH and it's only in Europe. There's too much overlap in the USA

Mine is a fact that it is a very strong rumour that may well turn into reality. Or not.
Odd thing though, I don't see and can't find a single hint, let alone reference to the possibility anywhere on the internet. Not even on Profi website, which did hint about the Kongskilde sale but which I missed entirely.
Nobody here has even come close to it. So it can't be in anyone's wildest dreams but mine, a lowly cow herder.

Ocht if nobody has got close yet, then it's obviously that Agco are going to buy Bentley to compete with Davy Broons Aston Martin thingies
