Same Saturno 80 Tractor

Hello, Anyone out there with a Same Saturno 80 Tractor or know where parts can be got for them.

Thanks for that. I am a new member - only joined on Sunday so I am not familiar with how things work here.

Can I edit my details to include where I am located etc.

I am located in Galway Ireland.

I have 2 Same Saturnos ( both 4WD ) and I need various parts from time to time.

There are a few tractor breakers in Ireland but very little Same Saturno stuff anymore.

At the moment my problem is with the Hydraulic Lift Unit - it can't lift a reasonable load in a transport box compared to even a Massey 135 ( which is a smaller tractor ) and the minute the engine is switched off the lift drops. It was always like this. I have taken out the lift unit and checked the seals on the piston but they appear to be OK. When there is a load on it the lift is constantly knocking - i.e the shaft coming back through the gear box constantly clatters - maybe this is normal. Anyone have this problem or any suggestions. I once saw a Saturno at a vintage show that had assister rams fitted - seemed to be a proper factory job.

Welcome , Dickler.
I am also in Ireland but never owned a Same . There were a few of them around here over the years .
Fenian Reilly Agri Spares
Crossakiel , Co Meath , would be considered the "go to "man for Same parts , phone 046 9243141.
I am not connected to him , have never dealt with him personally . Would have heard his name mentioned by a couple of Same owners and googled the details.

Hello All after a month's absence.

Thanks for the suggestions about who to try for parts.

Ironically the suggestion from jf850 about trying Reilly's in Crossakiel - well that was where my brother and I went in 1982 as pure greenhorns and bought the first Same Saturno. Anytime we contacted them after that - they were not very knowledgeable or helpful so I have not gone near them in years and won't. I have been to John Conaty's in Kells on a few occasions and got a good few parts there but he has very little now either. I also got a few bits from Tommy Shannon's yard in Kilashandra. They are very helpful and laid-back up there but again not much there anymore either.
I have also called to Joe Barrett's on my way back from a trip to Omagh. They are Same Dealers so they can order new parts at a price. Naturally they have to be used when new seals etc. have to be replaced.

Regarding my lift unit - I may have to put an hydraulic pump on the front of the tractor or something like that to solve my lifting problem.

Dillon tractor dismantlers in Donegal (Newtowncunningham) are breaking a Saturno and there is one on done deal in Drumshambo, I have two and the clattering of lift seems to always happen, did you clean out the filter at the bottom of the lift head, usually that helps.

Thanks emcg.

I went to see the 3 Saturnos in Leitrim.

Two were non runners and the third one was rough and he is asking too much and wants to sell all three together.

I also made contact with Dillions.

Regarding the knocking in the lift - yes I have cleaned/replaced the filter in the hydraulic unit. They can be really blocked up alright.

Do you have a Same Saturno yourself ?

I have two of them, one bought for parts but I fixed instead so between the two I get all work done, I have the manual that shows all parts and no’s if that’s any good to you, I can copy parts of it, hydraulics are never great for me, the draft lever sticks and both move together, had to change hydraulic pump in one of them.

Thanks for the reply.

I have 3 of them all working but all need bits from time to time. I usually have one left in the bog and sometimes two.

I got a manual as well but it is in Italian but I can see the diagrams etc. anyhow but would be interested in what you have also.

Could I ring you sometime ( evenings more suitable ) for chat - I can send you my name and number.

Thanks

I've been buying the odd parts i need from Hardwicks at Scarborough. Their a Deutz dealer so i guess your nearest Deutz dealer will be able to get new parts.
Western farm services in wales used to have a few used parts..
