Good evening could anyone give advice on how to join the floor chains of a Samson Spreader. The chains are the flat type which link into each other. I have slackened off the nuts on the Tension Rods but they appear to be held tight by hydraulic rams. How do I release the pressure on the hydraulic rams.

Put your spool valve that operates the chain floor in the float position.
On the right hand side of the body near the front there is a small aluminium block with a valve sticking out the bottom. Pull the bottom of this valve down and turn 90 degrees this releases the pressure. You can then push the
Rams back in.

If they are the kohlswa type links then there is a joining link that is more open and hooks on without having to twist the next link. They have a plate screwed on to stop them coming apart but it might be missing.
