Sand blasting price

What’s the going rate per hour for blasting tractor rims etc? Done a set that were powder coated and they took me nearly double the time! I’m using crushed glass media.

Powder coated rims are horrendous to blast, the rusty peeled bits fly off then you’re stuck slowly working your way through this chewing gum type stuff!! I feel your pain!!

Crushed glass leaves a really nice surface to key paint but probably not the best media to use on tough powder coats etc as it breaks on impact.

yeah, and putting it through the pot for a second time is even slower! Thinking of changing media as I’m blasting in a double shipping container and dust is a problem

£60 per hour.

Try iron oxide on powder. Horrible stuff to blast. Best thing is dipping them first but not every one has a dipping tank. Crushed glass is great for finish to paint and also cost effective.

Found a great way to blast new metal faster. Spray the steel with hydrogen peroxide to lift the mills scale. Takes half the time to blast.
