Are Environmental and local searches on agricultural land primarily done through the local council?

Its hard to find an answer on google, everything seems to be geared toward residential building searches.

Yes.

Local search is either done by council or by search agents visiting the council offices.

Basic environmental search will.be a desk top search, done in 5 minutes. I do not think local authority has any involvement in environmental searches.
