Securing heifer from kicking out

Think i need to strip out a heifer but only have my calving gate to secure her.

Any tips on what to use to secure her back legs to stop her kicking out and potentially breaking my arm? She's quite sore.

Ropes, shackles? Where to place them etc.

Rope around middle ,behind one pin and in front of other making sure you are in front of the udder, have a loop one end and keep just front and level with pin. Put the open end through loop and tighten down till they rock, they may fidget a bit, if they can kick tighten a bit more. I've never tied feet or or used a kick bar.

That’s what I was going to suggest, but never heard of it going behind one pin and in front of the other, we just put it straight round in front of the udder.

A bit of big bale string will suffice, for those too tight to buy rope 🤐, with the link of a chain or something tied on one end to make it easier to drop down behind her.
