Hi, I am new to farming forum and really posting on the off chance in hope anyone can point myself (and the husband) in the right direction?! Currently based in Devon we are looking to return back to South Wales ~ originally Vale of Glamorgan to be closer to family. Currently contract herd manager, my husband (and of course me) are ultimately looking to fulfil our long term goal to farm ourselves, as first generation new starters. To date we have been battling simply with acquiring available land in the area to enable us to get on, which has prompted the decision in returning back to Wales.
We are working on realistic basis; that we need to grow gradually so initially we do not require a huge amount of land. With a longer term view of looking at tenancy's once we are in a position to do so.
Rather than just post 'land wanted to rent' just thought a little background might help!
So drawing a large circle around south wales, any potential opportunities enabling some positive progression would be considered. If anyone knows anyone... looking to help some newbies out ~ or point us in the right direction? Any advice gratefully received
