We're expecting our first child; my wife recently made redundant from her job (so maternity benefits). She is a partner in the farm business. Does anyone have any experience with applying for self-employed maternity pay?

Congratulations!

She needs to fill in an MA1 form and send off. Google 'apply maternity allowance' and the government guidance should be the top result. Pretty straightforward form, follow the instructions and send it off
