Self-locking yokes

We're in the process of putting up a new suckler shed and have opted for self-locking yokes and after a slight mathematical error somewhere between the sales rep and the transport .....we have also decided to retro-fit them onto two of our existing sheds. These will be the first yokes on farm as we have always worked with a race and crush and none of our neighbours have them installed. Just looking for any advice on how to get the most out of them, any of your tips and tricks would be appreciated.

Get the cows trained to come in for a bag of grain, makes life so simple. Have a shed with 80 spaces and just putting 54 in another shed. Will hopefully do more in future. It makes lots of stock work a 1 man job.

a dairy farmer friend was planning to put some in in his collecting yard and to fit an automatic backing gate. idea being they could lock the cows off the feed so the backing up gate would work any thoughts on this? I realise this is the opposite to how they are normally used but could also be used for other things.
would a backing gate shift cows if it were diagonal barriers as long as there wasn't lots or new food infront of them?
