good morning I have several questions. what happens when you switch between suspension hardness modes on lwb tractors? change the valves? And the next question, how to relieve the pressure to remove the two accumulators for verification? thank you so much

Hello I have been testing for a while and I have achieved a small improvement in the suspension of an LWB tractor, right now I have 3 accumulators, the original 32bar and 54bar, but I have added a 1lt and 30bar accumulator in solidarity with the 54bar one.

We have 2 6R Deeres, identical spec, tyres, weights etc, however one is comfier than the other, seems the cab suspension is more ‘sensitive/responsive’ when on the same mode in the screen, the comfier one is 3k hours and the more uncomfortable is 3.5k, TIA

If you’re thinking the cab suspension is making the difference then it’s well worth taking the accumulators off and having them pressure tested and recharged. All accumulators lose pressure over time and it is quite common on hydraulic cab suspension to lose its performance over time. Some will do it faster than others.
I have a friend who brings his JD accumulators over every year for a recharge and it’s surprising how much they lose and the difference it makes.
It ought to be part of an annual service but none of the manufacturers recommended it and very few dealers carry charging equipment!
JD usually stamp the pressures on the accumulators.

I aim to check accumulators once a year, especially on the busy stuff, doesn't take too long during a service.

In my other line of work, some important accumulators are checked every 3 months.
