Sf1 a b curves

I’m new to the gps revelation and have a question I would like some help with please. I’ve got a John Deere 6000 reciever on sf1 and I want to drill on a curve tomorrow, I want to straighten out both ends of the field and it has a curve in the middle, can I set a straight line and record the curve or do I have to manually drive the full distance of the track and record it all? I’ve tried to ring the dealer support man but no answer and I would like to crack on in the morning before the rain. Thanks in advance, Ben.

Set your track on either adaptive curve or a-b curve press the record button when you start then carry on same as with a straight track. The difference between is a-b curve will always be the same as your first recorded track and adaptive track can change if you want to steer around an obstacle.

I take it youre wanting a straight track then a curve and back to straight track, if so, set it on ab curves and as you start the run set it recording then pause it straight away, drill the straight section then before you start the curve unpause it, drive the curve with it recording then after curve pause again and drive second straight section, just before the end of the straight un pause it and then stop recording. While its paused it doesnt record and just makes a straight line between where you paused it then un paused it.

Yes that’s right, I have paused the mapping when I’ve been mapping fields to drive around a tree then started it again when I have passed it so I guess it’s a similar idea. I’m not sure how accurate it’ll be on sf1 but I thought I’d give it a try.

We use sf2 but it works well, we use it on headlands mostly.

Adaptive doesn’t work on mine, should it?

Don't worry about adaptive curves. They are best for headlands, if you must. I do my headlands manually as recording adaptives is only for RTK. SF1 or even SF3 won't be repeatable enough. If you finish the field on a curve and stop recording, it will plot a continuing curve - useless for a field that gets longer than were you plot the AB line. AB curve goes straight athe end of the recording, as above.

It's maybe you don't fully understand how to work it, like me. I think you need to leave it recording all the time, not just first run down the field. Sure someone will educated us.

Yeah you set it away recording and just leave it running, only time I used it was cutting headlands with the combine.
