I think we have had it quite easy really when reading of others.. Some of you on here don't perhaps look in the dairy pages, the story of this guy in Ayrshire says it all;-

Well I've had over three hundred cows housed since mid July and only a quarter of our first cut secured. Now watching our contractor mowing his own 2nd cut silage on ground below us ,but don't know when/if he'll come here . Not before Sunday/Mondays' rain I'll wager. Our "drier" fields were done four weeks ago , and that involved leaving some endriggs uncut and others churned up.
So herd starts to be dismantled from Wednesday 6th. Beginning of the end of 150 years here.
