Sharing settings??

Is there any way we can set up a place to share settings for spreaders etc, different makes of spreaders, tramline widths, speeds. Is there an easy way Clive? It would be a shame, in such an active forum with so many members with a wealth of written info in the toolbox not to steal a march and start sharing..

Good idea, but how to do it in an intelligent way, other than it just being a vast list of random machines and settings. often wondered about this. Presumably you would need a settings section, then each machine type would have its own thread? But then there are quite a few variables from one farm to another, even with the same machine. Useful in principle though, like fuzzy logic.

Granted.. but where are the 'variables from one farm to another' is 12 kph and tram settings in one county diffrent from another? i still think it could work with the right formulas, i'm not pushing it though, I just think it would save people asking for settings in genral postings, go to a page, if its not there its not there..

Yes and variation in granule or prill size from one batch to another??
But I can call amazone and the settings are spot on.. i can't believe everyone who disses this idea does a 'flow rate check' when the cloud cover or humidity increases. it was just an idea to put it all in one place as a good solid starting point, that's all..

It is a good idea, but would require a fair bit of management. There will be thousands of settings for all the various possible combinations. As I said, you would need a section for settings with maybe subsections for different types of machinery e.g. Settings >>> Fertiliser Spreaders the thread for Amazone ZAM for example then posts for settings, but you would need to prevent people from creating duplicate threads for same machine etc. Then if each post is a setting or group of settings it's not easy to compare settings for same situation as they will be in different posts, so good idea in theory, but nigh on impossible to implement in a organised usable way as far as I can see.

I know, but Sergey Brin and Larry Page did it for everything in the whole world (except for spreaders it seams) so it could be done, ish. BUT I DO NOW OFFICIALLY SURRENDER!!:dead:

Sulky have an online tool for settings. I find it bloody useless as far as rate settings go. Need to open it at least another 5 notches minimum to get the required rate.
