Shearwell tagging pliers (cattle)

Rather annoyingly I've mislaid my Shearwell tagging pliers. I've a new long pin set ready for the new tags.

I've got about half a dozen of the old tags to use.

If I'm gentle with the pressure can I use the new long pin pliers on the old tags?

Would have thought so , I hate the new pliers so adapted the quick release pliers , much happier
Changed the pins and as long as the tags line up everything is dandy

Naughty thought, but give it a try, f they don’t stay in shearwell will give you free replacements...........probably of the new type 🤔

Wonder how far you’d have to look/ask to borrow a set of old pliers.

I bet once you’ve resolved this problem you’ll find the old pliers put down safely out of the way

Not that many stock farmers around these parts but thanks for the input

Crack on! I've done exactly the same 3weeks ago, put in 25 sets of tags with new pliers seems a bit loose when you set them on but tags go in fine.
