Well done to Emma anyway, She is making quite a name for herself, if I paid that money for a dog I'd expect to be able to go on holidays for a month and leave it to look after the whole place.

Aye, you can't knock her for what she does!! She is bloody good at it.

Trials dogs are a different world to working dogs - just like the difference between pedigree and commercial sheep...

Sadly the public just see the headline and think us farmers are all trading at these prices ?‍♂️

One of my dogs here is an ex-trial dog. I’ve brought her on to be a great catching dog, which is the only reason she’s still here tbh. She is so set on performing a great outrun, that I spend the whole time calling her back in when I’m driving a mob of sheep anywhere (still, after 4 years here!), while my other working dog happily drives them properly. :) I’d avoid a ‘trial’ dog now, let alone pay daft figures for one...

Well done Emma. Great result for her and clearly someone thinks the dog is worth that price.

However, for a sh!t kicker like me, b would such a dog add £17,900 more to my business than the current rough x bred bitch I have now? I suspect not, especially as my business is sheep production and contracting, not dog trialing or breeding.
