Sheep tagging rules

Hi all

Looking for some advice please.

I have read until I am blue in the face the rules around sheep tagging but I can't find the answer to my question

If for example, you have bought in some sheep and they have the previous owners full IED tags, if you then decide that actually you want to sell four of them for breeding or cull, what tags do you have to use? Do you just keep the original owners tags in or replace with your own IED's?

As long as they have two tags they are fine.

If they have both tags and the EID still works leave them in. If the EID doesn’t work you have to put in a RED Replacement tag from your holding and record it in your records that you’ve re tagged. You can use any colour tag linked to your holding as long as the pair match if their going within days. The RED tag is if you’ve had to Retag and are still keeping them on your holding.
