Do the Beulahs still do a pedigree tag, used to be when we had them. Would be the coloured tag and would have the sheep's flock book number on it, including the breeder's holding letters (two or three letters). If they've got this then they would be registered and you can talk to the society.
What mart were they sold at? And was it at a society sale?

It was a society sale, yes and they were sold at ruthin mart

But surely the movement document will name the vendor. And if the vendor isn't the original breeder, he or she will know who from whom they bought them.

The AML1 only records the movement., lot number and eartag if you are the buyer through a market. Not the vendor or his / her address. Only a private sale / movement leaves the destination address with full details and copies.

As said, we traced a ram breeder by putting the breed and his tag into a search engine. Nice ram :)
