Shimming Out Straw Walker Blocks

Hello,

Has anyone any suggestions about how to go about this...

I managed to get some wooden Straw Walker bearings made, using a new, original one as a pattern.

However, they are slightly too tight on the shafts, and would like to shim them out to prevent them being quite so tight.

My plan was to slacken them, until they are ok, then using a feeler gauge see what thickness of shim will be required.

My problem is, how would you cut the shim to shape, cutting the holes out etc?

Or, has anyone have another suggestion about how to go about it?

Thanks everyone

:)

Could you not just a reem a little bit more out of the wooden bearing?
