Firm, damp loamy soil or heavy silt are best soils. Set discs shallow to keep maximum pressure on the boards and plough at maximum speed to provide maximum friction.

I wonder if you have just polished the rust rather than having went through it! Get some deox c gel paint onto the boards wrap in cling film for 24 hours and wipe off. I have never had genuine yl183 boards trail and I have some really badly pitted ones

Thanks to you all for the advice very welcomed. I have all rust removed from boards used white vinegar great for removeing rust put it on after 1 hour rust just run out. And a lot of elbow grease went in to them will try the deox c gel see how it go. Would sand blasting help or could it damage the boards? Boards are not pitted in very good shape had very little use there not ransoms have not got there stamp on the back of boards they just have kristeel 183 stamped on back of them may be someone on here tell me who made them.? There doing a pretty good job compared to the spurious ones I had.

Kristeel is a Ransomes trademark. I have never seen genuine ones without the logo but it may be that the patent has expired and somebody is pulling a fast one.

Kristeel boards still plough with some pitting. Very rare for YL’s to stick in anything if bright although TCN’s will stick in Wold land if they have too much push on them. Over zealous use of tailpieces can lead to a build up starting at the back of the board and gradually building up forwards.

Four things:
Check that the transition between the back of the share and the front of the board is even with no step.
Find a good skip and put your tailpieces in it
Don’t have too much push on the boards.
Don’t try and plough too deep.
