I m recovering from the dreaded shingles the rash isn't too itchy but the area is quite painful to touch and even if nothing is touching it even clothes It still hurts. It seems worse at night and when in bed . Unfortunately I was away for the weekend when it started or when I realised what it was so visiting the GP and getting anti virus meds do didn't happen.
Another unfortunate thing is I started a new job this week so as best as I could I ve pushed on but we had rain last night so today I m resting and hopefully tomorrow.
What a horrible thing to have I think I ll look back and then realise how poorly I felt.

Hope it doesn't affect you to much and you get over it quickly. I had it when I was 18 (25 years ago now) only a smallish patch on my back and one on my chest. The bit on my back bothers me most weeks not much just like a itch or chill where it was. Other people that have had it much worse than I did say they never feel any discomfort

I’ve had the chicken pox virus on the brain, it’s a rare one called molloretts meningitis and I’ve been in hospital 9 days now on an anti viral IV, I finish treatment tomorrow
Very nasty. Had viral meningitis 2 years ago January in hospital for two weeks and off work for a further 6 probably 8 by the time I managed full time again just have annoying little head aches now if I don't drink enough water. Hope you feel better soon I remember being very board sitting in hospital by time I came out

I had shingles when I was 30 in my sciatic nerve. Painful memories, also discovered as a result that I have an adverse reaction to diclofenac as that is the active ingredient in volterol which I was prescribed along with an antiviral.

Fortunately I've never had it flare up again, I am also now vaccinated against shingles.

Shingles is absolutely murder painful. I wonder how much a private vaccination for one would be because I wouldn't want to get it.

A well demarcated rash on a particular dermatome is very very suggestive of shingles.

Meningitis of any cause is no joke to anyone of any age. Nasty.

Had shingles years and best described as someone putting a cigarette out on you. Mine was on my ribcage.
Flares up quite regularly, particularly when I am run down or stressed. Fortunately it doesn't bother me too much and goes away quite quick.
My Dad has it and it has made his life a bit miserable for probably a decade now.
Luck of the draw I guess
