Shooting on Sunday

As said, vermin/pest control is legal every day.

It doesn't feel right, to me, going out on a Sunday afternoon say. But dad conditioned that into me telling me it was frowned upon, shooting on a Sunday, when I was young and daft with the air rifle.

But I've spent many a Sat night well into Sunday morning out lamping...

Sometimes Sunday is the only day one could get out on the pigeons if working flat out. Bangs are part of the countryside. Just like living in town you have to sometimes put up with neighbours blasting shite music in next doors garden... can you tell where I live ?

That's what we were taught when we started shooting , not on Sunday, ' as it was a 'disturbance of the peace. '

It used to be a orange order Religious thing here, a lot of police were in the Orange order and if they caught you out hunting on a Sunday they would take your guns ,Thankfully that type of control and dominating is over,

Our village shooting club shoots on Sunday mornings once a month but after 10.30am. I’d shoot pigeons on a Sunday mind I probably haven’t even for 2 years

We were taught never to shoot on a Sunday, too. We weren't religious, it was just to give everyone and everything a day of rest. What really peed me off a few years ago was someone shooting in the distance on Armistice Day. The town's maroon went off and the shooting continued right through the two minute silence.

Agree, some on here need to remember their back garden is no more important than Phil and Linda’s tiny back garden! No shots on a Sunday!
The most important areas for me are the crops. If they’re getting hammered by pigeons then there’ll be shots going off on Sunday. We wouldn’t do it right next to peoples’ properties. Game is a no on sundays but I won’t allow vermin the pleasure of unhindered destruction. I do however think that shooting through the two minutes silence on Armistice Day is completely stupid and disrespectful.
