People local to me tell me that I'm a fool if I don't take up the chance to purchase a TS86 that has been stored in a shed for 20+ years...
...I have dabbled in the odd ploughing match now and again, but nothing serious (family & present time in my life have put pay to this).. although just lately been giving it some serious thought to re-introduce myself into the sport...
I don't want it to be another tale of 'a fool and his money'...any advice on the subject would be greatly appreciated... thanks Fellas

Around the 6k is being asked...but negotiable. Unsure of what boards are on it, as its been a while since I last clapped eyes on it!
I remember it appeared in decent order, grease on the boards, plenty of oil on the threads / adjustments etc...
I know its supposed to be the crème de la crème of match ploughs for the classic class, but 6k is an awful lot of bread and butter...

Some folk feel the value of these ploughs has peeked, as you just have to look at the average age of competitors at a ploughing match, and also the dwindling numbers attending.

I reckon that there will be more and more of these coming up for sale in the coming yrs as the current owners decide they are too old to continue

It will not instantly make you a better ploughman:( Many people come nowhere with these ploughs. I am NOT an expert ploughman (ie: do not use my hands and feet on the ploughing) but have been better placed. No doubt properly set up with the extra lenght between the legs they seem to make a better job of ins and outs.( my downfall) ..For 6k it needs to have as new original TCN`s or the longer boards and make very sure the legs are not twisted.

Totally agree... Having the best kit and setup is not a passport to success. It is the skill of the ploughman gleaned over many years of patience, practice, and knowing how to properly setup and adjust the outfit which brings results.

As I mentioned previously though, iv only ever dabbled in competition ploughing, and never attended more than 3 matches in a year as a competitor... For me to invest that sort of Wonga for this plough I would need to use it most weekends! (although quite rightly as someone said in a previous post, it is still an investment sat in a shed) But for how long? As Mydexta quite rightly says, prices have to peek somewhere, and maybe even decline!!
