Hi all.we make 45 acres silage per year via contractor with forage box, would we save space if we made wrapped square bale silage? What are the costs of a wrapped square silage bale? How many per acre roughly?

will plastic wrap use be curtailed ? but bales are easy to use, transportable round farm, pit silage isn't, depends how you feed it during the winter, field, or yard.

Continue with pit silage - it's far cheaper and much quicker and easier. And there is no wrap to dispose of. Nor do you need to buy a baler and wrapper.

The extra cash and time which would be needed to make wrapped silage could be used to buy a block cutter or build a small additional building if you're short of space.

Probably might be tax or levied on the film as such ,but not curtailed surely?
More scrutiny and use of the end product ,as in keeping it clean and recycling ,although dont wish it on us

is common sense readily used when discussing what happens on farms ? So much 'climate change' articles, are not true, but it doesn't matter to the vocal few, they believe cows are responsible for global warming. So, for them, anything could be the world killer, therefore, all bets are off, plastic is doomed, doomed I say.
