Wheat straw shortest I have ever seen
Barley straw again short and a lot of poor crops of it about
S barley has changed a little but depending on when the rain had come some looks ok , some in ear at a foot tall and still see the dirt through it.
That’s about where oxfordshire and surrounding counties are
getting a good look at crops at mo rouging bg etc . Gonna disappoint some lads whom have asked for any surplus straw being predominantly arable they thought we would have loads spare but by the time we got our own 800 4x3 hesstons ,filled up regular guy his 1200 round bales there be nowt much left . That pretty much I would think sum up most of Yorkshire

Won't know until they get well into the wheat if weather's good prices will fall drastically as every man and his dog will be baling

Wheat looks very stressed around here.

Some absolute cracking WB crops thou.

Springs crops will benefit most from last weeks rain, a lot of them are now looking very promising but a lot can happen either way in the next few weeks.

Indeed. Very sad death too, I should think.

Either it was a typo when you claimed harvest would start in the first week of June ( most others would just admit that though ), or you know absolutely nothing about the straw market. I've made my mind up.

Let's just try and stick to actual prices. And we won't know that till harvest time. It all depends on the weather.

I'm going to wait till harvest before giving my prediction.:)
If it's rubbish weather, folks will be chopping like mad, and last years prices will seem tame.
An easy harvest, and folks will be baling like mad, filling sheds, and price will be average.

Seem to have a lot of interest in this years straw crops barns are all bare around here including mine .All regular customers are asking if I have any spare to put their name on it.
Could sell it three times over .
This years crops look pretty good at moment but we don't need a dry month now a couple of inches would see us through.
No one really chops around here due to the high livestock numbers.
