120- 90 £50 to £65 bale
120-70 £36 to £43 bale
4 string £23 to £45 bale
Round hay £15 to £20 bale
Round straw £10
Straw no interest , the odd lot sold, I did not stay to the end , hay may have dipped later in the sale
In my years going there I have never seen straw trade so bad ,
Maybe it missed Charles Footman , it was strange and sad not seeing him about ,

would nice hay have been about £120-£130 a tonne?

A lot of folk will have plenty of straw. Plenty filled up and plenty has already been saved

Averages is always best
Thats about the best way to look at it.

Weve decided already that were not going to be fertilising for second cut next year.

weve bought 800 Round haylage in already ontop of the 1400 we made and another 900 available for us to buy. im aiming to have 500-750 bales left over for next year to make up for the lack of second cut.

I could do with some round hay at those prices! Cheap straw will help keep a lid on fodder prices

its strange, people still go on about him driving straight through the pickets protesting, bringing in irish meat at fishguard port surely 50 years ago
