If it's cheap this year it will be dear next ,that's how it goes, may be a good year to fill your barns if the price don't rise a lot in the new year ,Sorry, just trying to get my bearings.......... are we talking the price down for this seasons straw, or for next harvest ?
Wow, cheap bedding!Sedge fodder sale today , square bale hay 120 x 90 x 8' £2/bale
Depends what it is. Next door has some hay that is 75% thistles, 15% ragwort and 10% reads. It was mowed in the rain, tedded in the rain and baled in the rain and has sat outside since. You couldn’t pay me £100 bale to have that!Wow, cheap bedding!
Did he sell it at Sedgemoor.......Depends what it is. Next door has some hay that is 75% thistles, 15% ragwort and 10% reads. It was mowed in the rain, tedded in the rain and baled in the rain and has sat outside since. You couldn’t pay me £100 bale to have that!
No but will be sold (offered for sale anyway) somewhere. Just a example that all is not cheap at £2. I have a ewe that anyone can have for a £1 but it doesn’t make breeding ewes worth that does it.Did he sell it in at Sedgemoor.......
Just shows what madness the standing straw sales were this year, farmers want their heads read for getting caught up in the fever of it. Straw and fodder is going to be for nothing if this weather continues regardless of the price talkers. Anybody asking if there is any fodder for sale gets swamped with offers. Last winter was the best year for straw sellers and this winter is going to be the worst.Wheat delivered to Devon back £10 t to £75 . Can't quite believe it .But it has been very dry and mild all November so far .

good time to buy then, to feed next summer, to make up the lesser amount of grass quantity grown, because of the fert price. Always good to plan ahead.Sedge fodder sale today , square bale hay 120 x 90 x 8' £2/bale
I only put that on here to see the reaction, apparently it was stored outside, not a clue what it was likegood time to buy then, to feed next summer, to make up the lesser amount of grass quantity grown, because of the fert price. Always good to plan ahead.
