SimTech problem

Been and hired a SimTech drill off a friend and have been getting on fairly well except for one thing ,,,,, the tines are flicking stones forwards into the discs and stopping them turning ,,,,,,, any thoughts ?????

It happens. How fast are you going? The more stone there is, the slower you need to go. You also end up chipping the tungsten off the coulter tips which then wear away much quicker.

Need the discs to cut through the cover crop , only a few acres left so will battle on , when I picked the drill up I was told that it was best to push on to make the tines vibrate more getting a better shatter , he was talking 14kph ,,,,,,, straight away I felt 10 kph to be enuff

Putting Spring Barley in and yes we are fairly pleased ,,,,,,,, time will tell no doubt. , certainly burying seed ,,,, would love to roll it but looks like the weather is on the change for us and the rain may beat the rolls
