Simtech t sem equivalent

I have been on the look out for one of these drills for a couple of years now to drill my small acreage of cereals and a bit of grass.I like them because they seem simple and versatile, but demand seems to keep second hand drills up in the higher teens of pounds for a 3 meter box drill which is more than my acreage will stand. Is there any other make of DD that would do the job which works in a similar way eg. disk and tine? There are some moore drills about at handy money but I have heard mixed results on establishment. Thanks for any advice.

Take one old accord drill, an old pigtail tine cultivator and que the music. More or less what my tine drill is, but was origionally intended for min till and is steadily evolving.

I had two fields part drilled with a demo Simtech and finished with my Moore Unidrill last year. If anything the moore had the better establishment, but the conditions were less than ideal and neither drill had great results for different reasons. Ideally I would have both (or at least a tine drill and a disc drill) and pick the best one for the present conditions.

I am so-so about the discs in front of the tines. They didn't seem to work as well as I had expdcted, but I am not trying to drill into turf. Useful, but not a must have feature just for arable.

I'm not sure there is anyone selling new Duncan drills in the UK? We can supply spares but we will not be involved with new drills as we have, in our opinion a better option. There is a good chance we will have some part exchange Duncan drills next year like we did this year.

I will keep an eye on your web page bob. The grassland machine looks to do a good job by the pictures. I had some grass drilled in this autumn with a vredo? machine which looks to have worked ok but at £30 per acre it seemed like a good earner for the contractor. We would be looking for a machine to do more cereals than grass, but would be interested to know what your drills cost.
