Hi, Can anyone help me out? I've recently acquired a Slewtic 6' Slasher Topper which came with a MF 135 that I bought, Has anyone got a copy of the owners manual for this machine.

Regards

Theres not much to it Barry so id doubt there was ever much of a manual.
what do you want to know about it?
gbox oil im guessing, because its either that of how to grease the shaft and if thats the case then maybe youd be safer without a topper.. :playful:

Hi Tin Man, I probably would be safer without a topper,;) a complete novice and used to the old finger mower, but as I've now got this I'm eager to give it a go. I need to know a bit about the shear bolts and the general set up of the machine before I start.

gees its pretty much plug and play hi.
the shear bolts ill be just a standard 8.8 bolt of the right diameter and lth.
you can adjust the skids on either side depending on depth of cut required but thats about it.
i mean your blades need to be wholly intact obviously.
check the gearbox for oil before you use it each year, there will be a level bung on it somewhere about half ways up or lower on the box.
EP90 gear oil would be its tipple id guess.
don't go filling the box up to the top, ive seen it happen, just make sure its on level.
after that its just a case of putting it on the tractor, engaging pto, 540 rippums and off you go, there wont be a weed safe in the field once you get going.

Thanks tin man, I'm more into restoring and showing vintage tractors than actually working them these days. No problem with a little grey Fergie or a D/B Cropmaster and finger mower(y)

Check the bolts are sound that hold the blades on (assuming it`s the type with a long bar with blades on the end rather than chains) . Never bothered checking them properly on my topper until I lost a blade!! No harm done but a lesson learnt.. ;)
It`s worth starting up (i e engaging pto) with low tractor revs as this can save the hassle of replacing a shear bolt...
