Slurry storage

Our slurry storage on the farm is currently around 200,000 - 250,000 gallon short to last the full winter. Considering options of a concrete tower, enamel coated tower or a lagoon. What, roughly, would be the cost of both towers around the 250K gallon mark, plus positive and negative points vs a lagoon? I know the lagoon will be the far cheaper option but, from what I've seen, they look hard to keep with issues mixing- spreading, fences, what happens if the lining gets torn? Etc. Or do we stick with our current setup and just hope we keep getting a dry spell in the middle of winter that we can get some slurry out.
Thanks.

How much and what type of storage do you have now? If you already have tower you will have the necessary reception pit and pump for another, if not it will be another cost on top. How much slurry are you producing over a winter, will 250k gallons last an extra month or 3 months? If you're only a bit short I'd get a contractor with umbilical to pump some out.

We have a shed with a slatted tank and an older shed along side it that was converted to cubicle housing with a channel and reception pit that gets pumped into the slated tank - it was always our intention of building a tower for that shed. Extra storage of around 250K gallon would see us through an extra few months when we'll be wanting to spread it onto the grass anyway (mid March).
We currently use the contractor with the umbilical pump but its far from ideal, always relying on weather, ground conditions or the man himself being available. The umbilical is a great and cheap solution when all those things are in your favour, but it's also spreading slurry in the middle of winter that would be better put to use in spring/summer.

Lined lagoon for what they cost it's a no brainer in my opinion. for what you need probably nearer 25 grand a lagoon. Got one here and being able to target apply slurry makes a huge difference.

Do you have a concrete floor or just a liner? If just a liner how difficult is it to mix?

My one has a concrete channel from sheds running into it. There's one mixing point for 1m gal lagoon and the last job when putting in was to basically run a couple loads of ready mix down onto the floor at mixing point and screed in case of mixer error.

Roughly what dimensions is it if you don't mind me asking?

Thinking back it was 50m x 30/35m x 5m deep. I'd need check but that makes it 1.2m gal because you need a certain amount of freeboard. Got an outlet on it so umbilical just hooks on and starts pumping.

25 grand? For the full job? The excavation, lined, mixing points and security fenced with storage for around 250,000 gallon?

Anyone know how that price would compare against a tower, concrete or enamel coated, with equal storage?

Our lagoon is like this- concrete layed ontop of the plastic, no danger of liner lifting and the mixer hitting it

The lagoon on that site looks a tidy job!

God while back but mines a 1.2m and think protective linear was 3 k, linear was 17/18 ish and outlet 2/3 k. Security fence 5 k. Mixing point one load of ready mix plus weld safety crash barrier. I'll admit our excavation was done incorporating other site work so that'll be variable. I could probably hunt figures out but what I do know is it'll a shocking difference.
