Oh sorry didnt realise it was trailing shoe you were talking about. The field was pretty bare when it was spread so would there be much difference in that and a shoe?So dribble bar not a trailing shoe?
Yes. A shoe is placing the slurry directly to the surface, loss of N is significantly less than a dribble bar or splash plateOh sorry didnt realise it was trailing shoe you were talking about. The field was pretty bare when it was spread so would there be much difference in that and a shoe?
3000 gal per acre. 6.5m I think can't mind. Not used it for years. Always from same tank. But tried different fields and different types cattle slurry. Never seen any difference.Genuinely??
What rate were you putting on and what size was it?

Left side was tanker and splash plate at 3000 gallon/ac,on the right was trailing shoe at the same rate.
Incredible. In 20 odd years of contract slurry spreading I don’t think I’ve ever seen that3000 gal per acre. 6.5m I think can't mind. Not used it for years. Always from same tank. But tried different fields and different types cattle slurry. Never seen any difference.
Only advantage was on grazing fields cattle would graze trailing shoe bit better afterwards on first rotation.
Does your trailing shoe actually put slits in the ground? Our one only did in damp bits but the tractor/tanker had compaction then.Incredible. In 20 odd years of contract slurry spreading I don’t think I’ve ever seen that
No it runs along the ground and places the slurry under the leaf. We use a shallow disc injector if they want slots in the ground.Does your trailing shoe actually put slits in the ground? Our one only did in damp bits but the tractor/tanker had compaction then.

The injector would be very popular then?
I just saw the typoThe injector would be very popular then?
What's the best dribble bar now?
A couple of years since this thread started.
Is it mounted on the door?Im still really happy with our Mastek so far.. but it’s early days.

Is there bigger diameter pipes on the Slurryquip?
Boy that is some spacing, 28 outlets on 8 meters, a touch under 29 centimeters.
Can you take off the back door on the Slurry quip if you wanted to clean out stones and gravel , without having to take off the dribble bar frame?Very pleased with slurryquip, no bother at all.View attachment 1088932
