Slurry tanker dribble bar

Lad that works to me commented today that our nc is a lot more bouncy on the road without the dribble bar on it(we’re just moving slurry at the moment) so obviously it is made to be balanced with the dribble bar on it, as it was ordered as such. Could this be the issue with some of these bouncy tankers?

We talking single axle or twin axle tanker? Never seen a single axle tanker that doesn’t bounce....

A friend got his first 50k tractor a few years back, was that bouncy with the 50k he had to tie the spread plate on the back of his single axle tanker as he kept loosing it along the road

When people talk about the bouncing do they mean when the tanker is full or empty

When full, we had a Ruscon that if you didn't treat it with respect, would have bounced you off the road, and that was with a heavy tractor.

If it’s shaking the spout off it’s cracking tyres, probably also the tank and axle mounts. Then you see single axle tanks all over FB etc having a wee lay down like it’s poolside in Benidorm and wonder why.

It’s design?

They are a compromise. Relatively high COG. Cheaper to make than twin or tri axle, less maintenance, really and truly they are a machine that excels in the field with its large low rolling resistance lgp tyre.

In England, Scotland and Wales , being over 2.55m wide limits the allowable speed to 20mph or 32kmh

That I know of....not yet.

is there a breakaway on the new tankers so that if the tanker comes off the hitch the brakes get applied?

Not yet. The European "Mother Regs" although mandatory on new tractors, is not yet mandatory on what they tow.
Silly, as you also have a brake performance compatability mismatch, but there you go.
