Seem to recall reading its as cheap to replace as it is to repair but not 100% sure. Will be following this.

Ours is the same, on the to do list to sort out so also interested, was thinking it was just the seals? But not had chance to properly have a look

If it's the internal seal get it changed asap. Local man left hydraulics on float with spreading pressure on the tank and slurry got into the hydraulic oil of the tractor.

either that or on the older jd (3650) if you left the lever for open you would empty the axle

get it sorted, tried a seal on ours but after closer inspection the rod had wore so fitteda new ram and spring, this being after filling the tractor with oil every few days before someone suggested where it was going, less than 100 from memory but will need to tension the spring if u go down that route.
