Out of interest do use contractors for spreading?
Only when necessary. I’ve been carting and spreading myself these last two days but contractor with umbilical will be here Saturday. I’ve a training day tomorrow, so little spreading possible.
Of note this year is far higher than normal grubbing by badgers for the time of year. At this rate they will have ploughed my fields completely by Spring

What about Mr Mole? First time I was over your side I couldn’t believe the mess they make.

Walking the dog tonight and I saw quite a lot of slurry heading down a Beck. Rang the contractor doing the umbilical job and let him know his pipe had a pretty big leak.

He did ring back and say his staff had been and looked and sorted the leak and the slurry had only just made the Beck.
:
Personally I don't think his staff did much looking and weren't being very honest. The air stang of muck and the Beck was running nothing but brown as far as I could legally follow it.

Extremely serious offence and one that may be conveniently ignored, it happens all to often and is still a serious problem I'm afraid.

So, it would be interesting to hear anyone else's comment on this ?????
