Small 50-100 ton cold store for potatoes

Looking at converting a shed into small cold store can you foam spray over plywood&walls what thickness of foam would you need?

I’m only single phase so what sort of fridge units would I be looking at?

We did the same thing at work a few years ago.
Insulated door is now fitted but we stacked bales inside it before that.
Spray foamed.
Fan and air mix unit with a plenum to move air to the front.
Exhaust louvres in the opposite end to the fan.
And 2x single phase beer cellar coolers for cooling.
Supplied by Lifting and Cooling ltd

Controls by an old Farm electronics computer that we already had.

50t would fit in two containers.

Would it be an easier option to get a couple of mot failure trailers. Thats what my bro in law uses for soft fruit. Axles are of them and set on ground. you would need a low forklit though.

Our old 200 t coldstore is a lean to partitioned of main tattie shed with a wall made of 4×2 framing then 50mm styrofoam boards. Plyboard them spray foam would give a really good seal but may be a higher fire risk for insurance.

Point made by KennyO re insurance is a good one . Farm Insurers will want to know about sprayfoam insulation/composite panels installed in any farm building. Buildings with Insulation are generally classed as a higher fire risk and if Insurers are not told about Insulation and there is then a fire they may try and wriggle! The Grenfall disaster has made most Insurers paranoid about insulation.
