As originally stated this is available to claim. We were told that local authorities would contact you if you were able to claim. I’ve been watching the post for information on this but nothing came so I check online and there is online application forms you can fill out .
Check your local authorities website for details.

The premises needs to be registered for business rates before March 11th and in receipt of small business or rural rate relief- meaning those under £12000 rate able value will not be paying but are eligible for the Small Business Grant.
Local authorities are sending out letters to eligible businesses with a PIN number to claim via an on line portal.

You will need your business rate account number, your vat number in some cases (different LA's have very slightly different forms), your bank account details (including again in some cases) an upload of a recent business bank account statement,

One very important point is the PIN can only be used once so make sure you input all the numbers correctly.

The business must be still trading, or intending to trade after this situation, there will be people that get the invite to apply but stopped that business some time ago, applying in that situation is FRAUD; there is a legal declaration that you must read to ensure you are eligible.

The grants are being paid very quickly.

We haven't needed VAT, bank statements or a PIN to do the councils online form. Just rates number address and bank details

Not all are sending out letters . I’d say if you haven’t had had one check your local authorities website.
Don’t wait for the letter check online for application form.

Seems to differ between councils , County Durham have been brilliant; my money is in the bank , I claimed straight away through them. Which in hindsight was a stupid thing to do, I should have waited until after the end of the tax year !!??

I had a letter from New Forest council this morning about the grant We only have one holiday cottage so I think we fulfill the criteria.
We also rent out the covered yards which have planning on them for a visitor attraction, as the former tenant kept his vintage car collection in there. I thought they said in the budget that anywhere in that line under £50,000 rateable value would be 0% rated for this year's rates, but I haven't heard any more and the Debit went out on April 1st. Don't know if anyone has heard anything?
