Snowploughing rates

Did a bit of snowploughing yesterday.
We are subbies for a large contractor who have the council contract for our patch.
Last time we charged £38/hour flat rate.
Too much? Too little? Does anyone else charge differently for nights, weekends etc?
Only four hours work this time so no big deal but we did 12 days in 2018 though so that was a bit more of a decent sized job.

I would find out from the contractor how much they charge. I have to tender every year so it’s not a set rate for everybody. I’m more than £38 hr but I just charge a flat rate for when ever I go out.

Local contractor here on £40+ . He is on permanent standby, day or night. Had 3 men out for over 24 hrs non stop one day last week. They carry sleeping bags and oceans of coffee. The damage you can do to machinery is horrendous hitting kerbs and drain covers etc

I'm sure we were on £38 last time we did bits for the council. Doesn't matter if it's a day or a month straight in my eyes, the price is the price!

price it to account for damage, first year i did it i kept fecking rubber skirts on the plough from frozen cats eyes. soon learnt to keep out the middle of the road. you need to be nearer £45.00-50 price it as if you were hedge cutting. the council lads are being paid 18.00/hr on the gritter wagons in unsocial hours so why are you taking your tractor in for 20.00 more?

£75/hour day or night, weekday or weekend. As said can soon end up doing some damage if you hit a kerb etc so needs to be enough £/hr to make it worth it.

I do it for 2 companies one pays £45/hr and the other £50/hr day or night.

Highways own the ploughs here so it there problem if it gets damaged.
