Technically to dry, but yields slightly above average overall for some reason. So same again will do me
👍

Best milling wheat crop ever, some potatoes fields high yield others half the yield of the best. Winter barley average, sugar beet poor due to many factors.

Great replies and congratulations - but then farmers wonder why the trade pressurize prices and talk the market down? This morning your friendly Chicago trader not trusting the AHDB numbers, in same way UK farmers seem not to trust USDA numbers has read this thread and heard it from the farmers own keyboard - yields good. OK AHDB is correct - the UK is awash with wheat and has to export. mark the price down! Soz - couldn't resist. Commodity producers of any commodity need fear of shortage to act as leverage - joyous bountifulness is the last thing needed. Best wishes to you both. By the way Iben my local Sainsburys last night had all Scottish potatoes except for the Reds - from Yorkshire. Bizarre. Hey ho.

Probably lowest barley yield for forty years, caused by lowest rainfall for 45 yrs.
Amazing how different the weather in this small country can be.
Highest spring barley yield ever. Got rain once a week in May which set it going & never looked back.
2017-2021 crop never got a drop at that crucial time after sowing.

Just started loading out winter wheat but seemed like an average crop in comparison to the barley at harvest. Will be doing well to be 1/2t to the acre more than the SB

Wheat and winter barley OK given the drought.

Spring barley took a knocking.

Never had so much straw, but price is low so can stay in shed while next year. If straw yield is low harvest 23 I'll be glad I kept it (for the cattle).

Best harvest I've ever had.

Everything came in dry. All wheat yields were stonking incl second wheats
OSR nearly 2t acre were it not for some crappy patches.
Spring Barley was just about average
Beans a little lower than normal but a good 1.5t acre.

It will never be as good as that again, no drying. I felt like Iived in the South of England and wrote for Farmers Weekly

BUT - I've still got a lot of it in the shed and fecked up the marketing....

Beans disappointing and now dropped
Winter Wheat was good
Winter barley slightly disappointing, was my first time growing it
Spring barley very variable

straw yields very disappointing though

Harvest 22 was very disappointing here, to dry for early years DD, mistakes by agron, a crappy CHC gps system and myself compounded it.
If it was a school report it would be. Could do better.
New agron appointed, CHC gps binned and a kick up the arse for myself.
Who was the agron??!!

On at least two occasions during my farming career, I have known absolutely fantastic harvest yields one year, followed by a disaster the year after. 2011, being the last time when every crop was high yielding, followed by 2012, where yields we halved! IIRC 1986 and 87 were same.
2014 was when we set our highest yielding records here. Another relatively dry year with lots of sun and grain filling time. Yet the following year and subsequent ones to that have been OK with no disasters.
IMO, it is the summer sun that gets us the high yields on winter crops. It can be remarkable dry, but it’ll still yield well.
That wet Jubilee weekend gave us just enough moisture to set it all in tune in 2022.
