It was wet in April 2018, like so wet you couldn't walk across a field. We all have short memories though and it's maybe not a bad thing with our climate. This popped up on my timeline from 7 years ago.
Quadtrac ??Oooofff. That would have taken a fair old chug to free up.
We also drilled wheat mid February in 2013. It went in well but then it turned wet again, followed by snow towards the end of March. We ended up redrilling with spring barley mid AprilWe drilled some wheat mid feb and it went in lovely so it was certainly better than autumn/winter 2012
This year has been the wettest since the late 90’s here
I think that from S York's Linc's border up to the Scottish borders was particularly bad, I know it was the hardest harvest and drilling in my memory, but for a lot of the rest of the country it was just a normal bad year.2012 was wettest year i can remember, but the damage to the land wasnt fully understood until harvest 2013, took until 2015 to come right & broke all crop yield records that year.
