We drilled some wheat mid feb and it went in lovely so it was certainly better than autumn/winter 2012

This year has been the wettest since the late 90’s here

Honestly this year has been little wetter than the average for me. (N.I)

Yes it’s worse than last autumn but that was exceptionally kind.

1500mm+ Is the norm.

We also drilled wheat mid February in 2013. It went in well but then it turned wet again, followed by snow towards the end of March. We ended up redrilling with spring barley mid April

2012 was wettest year i can remember, but the damage to the land wasnt fully understood until harvest 2013, took until 2015 to come right & broke all crop yield records that year.
I think that from S York's Linc's border up to the Scottish borders was particularly bad, I know it was the hardest harvest and drilling in my memory, but for a lot of the rest of the country it was just a normal bad year.

Went on to do 3.75t/a and I remember trying to drill spring tape in May into dust and it never came

i think ya probs right, the lads on here have been hard much harder in the south in 2019 as my rainfall was just over 800mm in 19
which isnt far off the yearly ave. it was way over 1200mm in 2012 that was the trouble & the worst visit to the highland show ive ever since in nearly 40years of going to it.
