soil temp

For sprays like Atlantis Bayer recommends that the temperature should be >6oC at 9am which is when they will be just past the coldest point. Is that just Bayer's way of suggesting that we don't get out of bed earlier than them?

Don't worry about the temperature - worry about the soil around the seed more. Personally I'd go for it if the seed goes in well with no smearing. The temperature will soon warm up after all.

From what I have gleaned from reading the threads on bff dd soil warms up slower and this leads to lower vigor so it is better to go a bit later and get it up and growing rather than early and slow, seen lots of maize put in early and goes yellow and then is overtaken by later drillings. Guess will have to try a bit early and a bit later and see what happens
