Well I've only sold 10% of my wheat out of 1000t and sold no rape 300t+ beans yet to be harvested as is the spring wheat. And I've had three different merchants phone up today to book Somme tonnage. I said I wait after Christmas I put a shed up for this reason am I mad.

No. You're perfectly sane (apart from being a farmer). If enough of us stop selling for long enough, it's going to be worth a few quid more but not a lot. The trade know there are some full sheds out there.

I'm 22% sold across all crops, mostly pre harvest but not in late March.

Mmm, but if everyone holds off they are effectively long the market. But eventually people have to sell and prices will fall more.

The trade talk was a world market last year. I can live with 100 quid a tonne means I don't pay tax I gave 300 tonne away to the gov last year but that's a different thread.

Tight call but I live in the middle of now were the dust carts can't be assed to come up here half the time. I've been broke into a few times at the yard and the cops just say sh t happerns. And when I can be bothered to walk to the pub I mostly hear about the tax dodgers and cash in hand muppets but that's another thread.

Could there be something in the fact that you've had 3 merchants on the phone today, all trying to lock you in to a p*ss poor price? Perhaps they are thinking this is the floor and time to get it bought before the price firms?:)

Altogether now, "Always look at the bright side of life, de dum, de dum, de dum........" :D

Least I can go to bed at night and say I put everything in to this harvest. I'm a farmer I've farmed well. But I asked a merchant the price for nov 14 and 15 both £150 should if done 40 loads on both and I'm gutted.
