John, the only thing I don't like about your headstock is the fact the depth wheel is attached to it, when you move the cross shaft the wheel is not marking the next front furrow width correctly, apart from that it is very much like my design on the outfit that was stolen, PAT AP FOR ??

roy, i see what your saying, however, you can move the wheel in and out a small amount to mark the the next furrow, and really once the plough is set to plough the correct width and you mark it at that, you make fine adjustments with the original cross shaft handle just like a normal plough, then set the plough wheel to suit, then you never really move it sideways on the cross shaft until your taking your last but on single furrow off, at that time you just turn the wheel around

I agree with Roy. I can see no good reason for attaching the wheel to the headstock. I do not have a movable headstock but a cross shaft that I can wind from the seat. The movement is marked by visible graduations and can be used to make accurate width adjustments of known dimensions. If I want to plough 1/2" narrower I wind the cross shaft 1/2" etc.. What is the point of making such adjustments when the wheel marker moves at the same time ?
