Just hitched up the mower only to find I couldn’t unfolding it once out of the shed.
Operate the spool to pressurise the ram, pull and hold onto the rope, push spool forward, nothing happens.
Is there some sort of valve somewhere in the hydraulic system of the mower?

No valve. Is the coupling pushed right in?

Daft question - latch lifted?

Yes, hose is in correctly, you can see the pipe from the tractor pressurise and depressurise when the spool is operated, and yes, the latch is lifting high enough for it to unlock.

Have you tried giving it a push? It might have stuck over winter perhaps?

Got it unfolding now, but something is still not quite right. If you push the spool lever forward at a normal speed, nothing happens, but push the lever forward very slowly, hey presto, it unfolds. Hope it is just a storage problem that will right itself over time.
Could it be anything to do with the hydraulic brake way protection cylinder?

sound more like quick coupler or your tractor if it works when you do it slowly....try it in another spool....if that don't work, try a different tit end of something else

Too much pressure at the spools , turn it down .

Is the stand folded up out the way? Sounds daft but I'm sure this was an issue on a similar mower a while back.

No problem with raising or lowering it once it is in the working position, so can’t be a tractor spool issue agcon1?
