Anyone get going at spring beans or holding for middle of the month before sowing… Most people Claydon them in or plough and one pass ?

I'll go early March with DTS. Better in and out than go too early. 91% on germ test.

Would roll after sowing beans with the Claydon … conditions excellent for drilling but may not be perfect for rolling? Any opinions.. want to premergence spray with herbicide and mainly to make it harder for crows !

Hadn't got around to having the seed tested so sent a sample off on Monday, and waiting for results. I wasn't expecting to go this early, I've never drilled anything in February before.
Will go end of next week if still dry enough. Direct into stubble with CO4. Some of which was subsoiled in autumn to see if it makes any difference.

Drilled beans in February before as long as soil is in good condition go for it.Spring beans suffer from dry springs best to get them established how do you know that march weather will be good.

All ours are in this week
Beautiful conditions and near perfect seed beds following winter ploughing.
Dry but friable seed beds not even sticking a little to my boots.
Drilled with TS time drill 3-4 inch deep

The weather sure will turn and if conditions are good now then they are better in and having a chance

Ours went in yesterday and today. Into autumn cultivated ground. Went in nice with tine drill. Agronomist want us to get the peas in now, may hang off for a bit.

If conditions aren't right leave the rolling out until they are.

In my opinion too early for peas soil needs to warm up peas need to hit the road running

Didn't get the winter beans in last autumn as the weather turned on as when we were about to start getting them in so this spell of fine weather has been great and by end of today should have that job done

Are UK farmers aware of the huge increases coming for all pesticides… Bayer , BASF etc increases in the region of 35% , I’m told … Pure gouging and nothing else !

In no rush for beans, if the weather stays good I’ll think about them last week of feb. Planted in early feb before and it was not good. Peas, will probably drill barley 1st and then have a think about it
