Spring water treatment

Needing to treat the spring water supply for coliforms to 1 farmhouse and 4 cottages. 1 big system on the 50mm supply pipe would be the easiest but no power near the supply. Uv lamp would need 100w for that size of pipe and flow, what solar system could supply that 24/7, or its a digger job to put in an armoured cable. The other option is 5 smaller systems in each individual house which would over come the power issue but 5 systems to maintain.
Anything other that UV worth considering?

Why would you bother with solar if you have a spring. Simple water motor would generate 24/7

I was looking into possibly fitting uv onto my spring supply. I was advised to us UV as close to when the water is going to be drunk. So fitting uv it the houses might be the way to go.

We used these guys to obtain a mains supply for a cottage that was on private supply, however they are specialists in private water supplies (that is what we approached them about but as we were selling the cottage, he recommended the mains supply as it would increase the value of the property).

I don't know how long ago you used them, but we also had good service from George when he was independent.

I don't know exactly what happened for the firm to be swallowed up, but I couldn't get anything but corporate customer enquiry nonsense when I needed water treatment stuff in the summer.

Borewell provided a good, farm-sensible solution, albeit with centralised UV (cottages here are privately owned) so time will tell...
