If you are rearing 7kg to 110kg you should allow 0.8m2 per finisher place (8ft 6in ft2). If you have buildings you could do the first reading stage to 40kg you could keep double the pigs for this stage ie 0.4m2 per place

I make 1980ft2 about 230 pigs based on my first calculation BUT this is with an approved design with 35/65 scrape to straw bed and capable of being scraped 3 times a week.

Otherwise deemed at deep straw : capacity reduces to 105 pigs

On a scrapethrough system you'd be looking at 165 pigs that would be stocking rate of 1.1m2 per pig which will soon be the maximum stocking rate for freedom foods which you'll need to be if you're doing them b and b and on deep straw it'll be 120 pigs at 1.54m2 per pig.

From the RSPCA freedom food standard.
Pigs always do better with a bit of room, we don't stock to maximum.

I think @JP1 has it correct for freedom foods pigs.
Normal red tractor is a different kettle of fish. However you wouldn't want less than 1.1m2 per pig at the top end for economic production. Just an opinion. Less than 200 pigs wouldn't be economic for the vast majority of producers. Less than 500 for most.

I would do if you're thinking of running the sort of numbers in there that have been quoted on here i was looking at our pens today and thought when they are getting near on killing we certainly wouldn't want to be stocking them any higher they just get too fractious and trying to keep them clean can be hard work. Have you got any other sheds That could be used aswell?

No not at that site its a new build. Could put a leanto off each side to triple the area, but not got the main shed up yet.
