Yes. Sexed. Good conception rates calves born unassisted to spring calving heifers.

Got a sexed straw for a stan the man heifer. So that's good to know.
Wonder what his sins are like, the EBV's on the terminal side seemed decent too.

I bred a bull by Stan the man. Called him Vlad the lad as it was a 'V' year!
But I've culled him this year as his calves tended to be rather large. He was ok on cows, but I have a lot of youngsters coming through by my other bull so didn't want to use him on them.
I think Stan wasn't recommended for heifers latterly? Not sure what his daughters calving ease was though?

I'm not sure either, but I'm going that Sportsman will balance it out. He is recommended for heifers, even though the birth ebv for him is similar to stan.
Stan scores better on the maternal traits but is low on docility so hopefully Sportsman will counteract that too.

Who knows what way it will breed may just roll the dice and see what we get.

She was normal sized calf. Another cow had a stan bull calf and he came out at 52kg.

It certainly is.
It's all relative isn't it?
I haven't assisted any this year or last, but the calves are still larger than I would like. Did lose 1 that I presumed was due to size last year, though she calved unassisted.
