He did ask about block calving in the first post. Could also measure output per person in liters. I’ll likely be higher this year but last I looked a couple years ago we did around 500000 per person on farm. If I converted that correctly.

Surely staffing levels will depend on numerous factors block to Ayr calving and layout of farm
I used to run a farm 320 cows with myself and relief man one day a week and couple hours a day first 6weeks of calving block
Cows spring calving and out 12 Months grazing
Sounds sh1t

He did say he used to......he's now retired at 45 on a Caribbean island

Would the cost of the staff not be a factor too. Someone employing a herd manager on 40k plus house and vehicle and having them do most of the work, is different to the owner looking after the cows and using a self employed, entry level employee with no accommodation to do the basic work. You could almost have two of them for one herd manager.

We work it out on 750,000/head, but it is massively variable, we dont do much tractor work, just feeding and a bit of fert spreading.

Looking at a lot of busineses, not many get away from 1 person per 100 cows, or thereabouts.
